All cGMP auditing, training, and consulting activities are conducted through ASI Consulting, a separate division from our certification body, ASI Food Safety, in order to prevent any conflicts of interest.

The goal of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is to make our food supply safe by shifting companies' focus from responding to food contamination to preventing it.

To comply with the FDA FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food regulations, each covered food facility must have at least one PCQI to prepare and oversee their food safety plan. One way to become a PCQI is to take the Preventive Controls for Human Food course that is recognized by the FDA.

This training is taught by one of our qualified Preventive Controls Lead Instructors who will go over how to develop a risk-based Food Safety Plan and implement preventive controls to help minimize and control hazards. Attendees will receive their FSPCA PCQI certificate issued by the AFDO (Association of Food and Drug Officials) for the FDA FSMA preventive controls for human food when they successfully complete the class. This course meets the requirements defined in 21CFR117.180 of the FDA preventive controls rule.

Course Curriculum includes:

  • Introduction and preventive controls
  • Food safety plan requirements and development
  • cGMP's and prerequisite programs
  • Food safety hazards
  • Hazard analysis and determining preventive controls for processes, food allergens,                   sanitation, and supply chain
  • Verification and validation procedures
  • Record-keeping procedures
  • Food Safety recall plan
  • FSCPA regulation overview
