Q-How quickly can I get certified to SQF?
A-Depending on the programs you currently have in place, a safe time line to obtain certification is 3-6 months.
Q-Where can I search for Customers/Buyers to view current certification on the SQF website?
A- Click here SQFI.COM. Type the Supplier name into the search bar and click search. When the Supplier name appears you can view the details of the current SQF certification.
Q- Why does my company need a HACCP Plan?
A- Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) is a process control system designed to identify hazards in food production. It includes steps designed to prevent problems before they occur and to correct deviations as soon as they are detected. This is the most effective approach for producing safe food. A HACCP program is taking your present Quality Assurance program and upgrading to a program which will ensure “zero defects.” HACCP programs are required for SQF Certification audits and will also satisfy the requirements of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
Q-Can ASI customize an audit form to fit our needs?
A-Yes. ASI Food Safety offers many types of third party GMP audit forms for food processors, non-food processors, packagers, distributors, retail store audits and kitchen audits to name a few. You will have the opportunity to view the audit standard and guidelines prior to the scored audit. If there are changes that are needed, we will be happy to work with you to customize the form. ASI auditors are able to use your audit form if that is your preference.
Q-Can ASI help us comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA; S 510)?
A- ASI can “use food safety tools such as, a Hazard Analysis, Recall, Traceability, SSOP, Prerequisites, Allergen Programs, Food Security, etc. " to help satisfy the rules of FSMA. Contact your sales representative for further details.
